Dear Dora,

I found an ad for your magazine at a bottle show last September. I enjoy it very much. Your last edition was best for me so far. Enclosed is a snapshot of my car with hood ornament. I had an idea during the fall of '81. I drilled a small hole in the hood of my car. From underneath I inserted a metal screw from 1" to 1-1/2" long. On top of the hood I put a wooden peg from a crossarm, and screwed it to the wood screw. I then placed an insulator on it. This is my hood ornament.

I can change it at any time. Of course when I park my car away from home, I remove the insulator and put it in the car. 

I've worked for New York Telephone for 25 years as a lineman. some of the old timers tell me where they buried hundreds of purple insulators. someday I'll get a map from them, take them along, and dig the glass up.
